When it comes to his sense of style, Simon Cowell tends to stick to a tried and tested uniform.
And although he is notoriously vain about his appearance, the 53-year-old musical mogul evidently decided to forgo his sense of style in favour of practicality as he left the London Palladium Theatre on Wednesday night after a long day of Britain's Got Talent auditions.
Appearing to channel boy wizard Harry Potter, the series boss was sporting a pair of almost comically round spectacles as he exited the theatre.
With the star only bringing out
the somewhat unusual accessory on very special occasions, it would seem
Simon was suffering the effects of the hectic BGT filming schedule.
Looking a little sleepy as he emerged from the central London theatre, the smooth-talking music maestro ensured his Harry Potter-esque eyewear was the centre of attention by wearing a simple grey crew-neck sweater and jeans.
Although Simon's refined look wouldn't have gone down too well with the style set, his co-judge David Walliams appeared to be as thrilled as ever to be with the music mogul.
The comedian wrapped his arm around his pal and beamed from ear-to-ear as they wandered out into the night together.
It had been a busy evening for Simon, with him having to juggle judging the latest round of Britain's Got Talent auditions with presenting show hosts Ant and Dec with their twelfth consecutive National Television Award for Best Entertainment Presenter.
Also spotted leaving the theatre was BGT judge Amanda Holden, who overcame her embarrassment earlier in the day when she inadvertently flashed her black bra as her sheer purple blouse became unbuttoned.
Simon first wheeled out his Harry Potter specs at The X Factor auditions in 2010, much to the amusement of thousands of fans.
One wrote on Twitter: 'When Simon Cowell wears his glasses, he looks like an ageing Harry Potter.'
Another added: 'Simon cowell and harry potter separated at birth :) Loved thoses glasses lol.'
The Britain's Got Talent crew will now travel up to Glasgow for the next round of auditions on Monday.
